NAIP Imagery for Pocket PCs

Collected in Summer of 2006 for Washington and 2005 for Oregon
We are in the process of compressing the 1 meter color NAIP imagery collected in 2005 and 2006 so that it can be run on a Pocket PC. Several Oregon Counties have already been finished. The imagery continues to be in MrSid^® format. Zooming in and out with the compressed imagery is very fast on Pocket PCs and the screen resolution is still very good. Having the compressed imagery in a MrSid^® format allows the user to bring up an entire county on a Pocket PC. You can zoom into any area of interest with ease. The data is compressed at a ratio of 100 to 1, which is good for retaining detail while keeping the file size small enough to fit on a Pocket PC. With ArcPad^® and a GPS unit, you can track yourself on the imagery. This is extremely useful where roads do not appear on maps, but can be seen from the sky. You can download a compressed NAIP imagery sample here. The imagery is delivered on a CD or DVD depending on the size of the order.				Compressed Imagery Runs Great on ArcPad 7.0.1^® Entire counties can be viewed on a Pocket PC in the field using ArcPad version 7.0.1^® Imagery does not include road, stream, ownership, or any other data layers. The compressed NAIP imagery comes in NAD 83, State Plane Coordinates, Oregon North zone. The unit of measure is US feet. If a different coordinate system, datum, or zone is needed, Atterbury Consultants, Inc. can re-project the imagery into whatever the client wants.

Counties that have a _1 and _2 after their name are sold as a single county, but come as two separate files. For example, if you order Douglas County, you get Douglas_1 and Douglas_2 Compressed County files can be as large as 700MB. Please make sure you have a memory card large enough before purchasing.
