We have 1 meter color imagery collected in 2005 and 2006. The imagery is orthorectified and comes in a MrSid^(TM) format. The MrSid^(TM) format allows the imagery to be used in ArcView^(TM) 3.2 and 3.3 with a free plug-in from Lizard Tech. With ArcView 9.x the imagery may be brought in directly. New! Lizardtech is providing a plug-in for Internet Explorer that allows the viewing and printing of MrSid^(TM)files. You can find the plug-in at www.lizardtech.com. If you have trouble with the plug-in, you can get instructions here. You can download a NAIP imagery sample here. Price wise, this imagery can’t be beat. It sells for $50 per county and is delivered in DVD format. If clipped into smaller pieces, it can be used on Pocket PCs in the field using ArcPad version 7.0. Tests have shown individual images of 150,000 acres to work very well in ArcPad. We have also compressed entire counties to fit on a Pocket PC. Having the imagery in a MrSid format allows the user to bring up an entire county on a desk top PC or laptop. You can zoom into any area of interest with ease. The data is compressed at a ratio of 15 to 1, which is very good for retaining fine detail. The user has the best of both worlds, high resolution and fast screen refresh times.
