1
meter color imagery collected in 2005 for Oregon and 2006 for Washington.
The imagery is orthorectified and comes in MrSid® format.
ArcView 9.x
and ArcPad 7.x can use the imagery without modification.
The MrSid®
format can be used in ArcView®
3.2 and 3.3 with a plug-in from Lizard Tech
Lizardtech also provides a plug-in for
Internet Explorer that allows the viewing and printing of
MrSid®
files.
The plug-in can be found at
www.lizardtech.com.
If you have trouble with the plug-in, you can get instructions
here.
The
MrSid® format allows
the user to bring up large areas that would be difficult or not possible
with other file formats.
We have also recompressed the imagery so that
an entire county can be run on a
Pocket PC. The
imagery continues to be in MrSid® format.
Zooming and panning with the compressed imagery is fast, even on Pocket
PCs.
Imagery does not include road, stream,
ownership, or any other data layers
The original Unmodified NAIP imagery is compressed at a ratio
of 15 to 1.
Recompressed NAIP imagery is compressed at a ratio of 100 to 1
Recompressed County file sizes can be found
here.
